New Delhi: Much to the disappointment of leaders like Keshubhai Patel and Suresh Mehta, the rebel factor failed to create much impact on the outcome of the BJP's prospects in the Gujarat Assembly elections.

Only one out of the seven sitting BJP MLAs, who had crossed over to the Congress, managed to win the elections. The rebels were not able to swing Patel or Koli votes to the Congress in any substantial manner as they had claimed earlier.

Meanwhile, the two Congress MLAs who had crossed over to the BJP — Neema Acharya and Pabubha Manek — have won the elections from Anjar and Dwarka respectively.
