Cops catch man after 26 years of looking for him

CAUGHT AT LAST: Originally a resident of South Delhi, Ravinder Kumar had a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head.
New Delhi: It's an arrest that the police have been itching to make for the last 26 years. Ravinder Kumar who was wanted in nine cases, including two murders - one that of a sub-inspector - a bank roberry and two shop heists in the early '80s, was arrested by the Delhi Police from Dehradun on Sunday.
DCP South District, HGS Dhaliwal said, "The gang was very active in the '80s and was involved in many sensational crimes."
Ravinder was sentenced to life for murdering a friend and served five years of the sentence before he escaped from a hospital.
He says, "Target tha us time jail se pharar ho jana. Uske baad phir pakda gaya, phir jail raha, phir jail se bhaag gaya." ("That time all I wanted to do was escape prison. I ran away, was caught, then ran away again.")
