Karunanidhi slams Maran brothers in emotional letter

Friday saw yet another emotional outburst from the DMK chief against his grand nephews Kalanidhi and Dayanidhi Maran. In a two page letter in the DMK's mouthpiece Murasoli Karunanidhi went on the offensive against the Marans and virtually ruled out any rapproachment within the family.

Rajinikanth must enter politics: Chiru's advice

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth must enter politics, and he should decide about it now. That message comes from Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who formed his own political party this year. Chiranjeevi told CNN-IBN's Veeraraghav in an interview that he had discussed the matter with Rajinikanth several times but the actor said there was still time. Rajinikanth has refused to accept his fans' plea to enter politics at least thrice since 1996.

Former union minister Dayanidhi Maran submitted his symbolic resignation on Sunday and showed solidarity with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) over the Tamil issue in Sri Lanka. The resignation came after Maran met the DMK chief M Karunanidhi for the first time since his exit from the union cabinet over a family rift in 2007.

Jayalalithaa dares Karuna to quit over SL-Tamil row
