ADAG's Big TV set to make big splash in DTH mkt

Reliance - Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's Big TV is all set to make a big splash in the four-year-old Direct-to-Home (DTH) television industry. Big TV, the fifth player in the segment, plans to leverage its telecom and entertainment businesses to make up for the lost time. Of its 200 channels, there will be 32 tailor-made movie and 20 music channels.

Doordarshan fails to take full advantage of Olympics

Having clocked ratings of 0.4 for the opening ceremony DD has fallen short of marketing the Olympics completely. With advertising packages ranging between Rs 35,000 to Rs 60,000 and spot buys going for as little as Rs 10,000 , the Olympics are a far cry compared to even a Test match where a presenting sponsor pays around Rs 5-6 crore.
