New Delhi: Literary giant Anita Desai's husband and Booker Prize winner Kiran Desai's father Ashvin Desai has just come out with a book which released in the Capital on Sunday evening.
While Ashvin did make it a point to joke about being part of this family of literary heavyweights, he made sure to point out that his work Between Eternities - Ideas on Life and the Cosmos is different.
It's a work of non-fiction, dealing with some heavy questions – on life, death, religion and everything in between.
Also, Ashvin, who took 15 years to complete the book, compared his style to that of his wife, Anita.
“Words just flow for her (Anita), now I'm on the other end of the stream, no talent, have to slog, has taken me 15 years to write this,” he said.
Kiran too couldn’t contain her happiness. “It's a scholarly work. My book took eight years, glad he writes slower than me,” she said.
