shailesh.lal Left prefers to be left out. But the nation won't join them in their obduracy. As they chose, they tread the path alone. Their negative thoughts, words & actions have bred only negativity for themselves. They visualized it, they got. Goodbye Left. You're history.

Raghu Rajagopal Rajagopal In the last 4 years, except for providing a mere numerical support of 60 MPs from outside, and raising objections for every issue, what has the Left done for the progress of our government or our country?

Left will ever remain as just a party of old grand daddys who cannot value add to our country and our progress but can only talk leninism or marxism and raise red flags and try to push us back to 19th century.

Thay do not have the ability to run our country's governance and will never have in the future as well.

Media has made them big in the past few years, and if it can be avoided, they will be pushed back to the comfort of their easy chairs, and you will see india progressing

RA VB VB This article neatly summed-up. I don't remember whether any visionary leaders we had in the LEFT. As the name says, they would always to go in LEFT, when everybody go in RIGHT. They have bunch of speakers who can speak non-stop for hours in front of television cameras. Otherwise they are useless in action. Greatest example is the their ruled states. They have stalled the government proceedings without allowing govt to go in any direction. It's high time they are out of the government.. They can live with thier ideals in thier own shelf.

Sandeep Sandeep Sandeep Actually thats the problem with our country. We pull the legs of each other. We keep discussing about these problems (like Corruption, Politics etc.) Same case here with left, who are actually left now out of league. If someone would want to list out the problems of the world, they can count on fingers, like population, global warming, politics. The intellectuals living this world are probably not using the intelligence to solve. I don't know whats the solution....

Aravind Naick Naick Thanks for the great insight.
I wish that the people of Kerala and WB ditch the Communists and choose a party that is loyal to India than to China.
We are fed up of parties with all power and no responsibility.

Srinivasa Rao K K Sagarika just like Rajdeep, you were also biased towards Congress and your article is completely one-sided showing your personal contempt for left parties without going through the events.

You should not forget that you are just running a media channel not the Country, so do not insult the people who voted for these so called leftist or rightist leaders, instead you should be questioning the moral right of the people who become PMs of India without getting a single vote.

Your prime responsibility is to report news and not your personal views and anyway shouting/ arguing at the top of your voice is not news.

Without going into merits or demerits of the N-deal, you completely avoided; why PM disregarded the democratic norms and gave a public statement that too when he was on foreign soil, why he has no guts to say the same on the face of the left leaders, why did lie or go against the agreement reached last November with the left, why did he forget the CMP completely as though he is running a Congress majority government or his own company, why did he maintain so much secrecy in disclosing the text of the agreement, is he not answerable to the Parliament, what for the CMP was framed for (for cheating public), now how is he going to prove his majority by horse trading? And what sort of morality is he showing to the people, the list can on...

This is nothing but the same old congress cheap politics of use & throw, cheating etc.

Instead he should have shown the same kind of stubbornness in resolving the price rise, growing terrorism/ crime, unemployment etc.

This is like running a news channel, without any responsibility or answerability.

You mentioned so many changes that include, growing devide between rich and poor, growing unemployment/ displacement/crime rate/deceases/ suicides/ inflation/ unrest/ food scarcity etc. etc.

rajatnpb Sagarika. This has got to be one of the best blogs/article I have read so far on the mighty fall of the Left parties. First of all, hats off to you for writing an article so frankly and openly. You should call some of these Left leaders on Face the Nation and tell this to them on their face as openly as you have written it here.

The Left is part of an idealogy that is long dead. As a young person in India, I have nothing in common with what the Left has to say. They should have realized, its never easy to sail against the waves.....!

Also kudos to the current PM for taking a very brave posture on the nuclear deal issue.

kelshorey Sagrika Ghosh!!

Wonderful article, Congratulations. Could you not please educate Vinod Mehta of OutlookIndia and N.Ram of Hindu.
Prakash Karat has written his obituary. He has shown, he is bankrupt of intelligence, logic and farsight. A layman in the UK has the common sense not to issue a threat, unless he is certain to execute that threat. Karat has issued the threat to scupper the N-deal, which he can not execute. How ignorant? It is ironic, we Indians have proved to the World that we are Second to None. But in India we have leaders like Karat and Advani. Take Advani:

(1) Jinnah was a secular leader!!!
(2) Cries in public!!!!
(3) Sends Jaswant Singh to SP to bring down UPA!!!!
(4) Talks about more temples, when he could not sort out Ram Mandir, when he was in power!!!!

Does India want to be ruled by leaders like him?

In such a case India will become another Tibet for China.

Ranita Ray Ray Well said! Its such a relief to get rid of the commies who were so out of snyc with the realities of the 21st century.
Hopefully we can now go ahead with reforms. Yes I still have my coubts about the credibility of these small local parties. I think it was a major mistake by the congress in not taking the BJP into confidence at the very start.
