Do you know who the best entertainer of the year is so far? No, it's not Shah Rukh Khan, and not Rakhi Sawant. He is the most unlikely, DLF Indian Premium League Commissioner Mr Lalit Modi. What an entertainment he... Read The Article

Definitely, Mr.Modi is been a great entertainer providing his brainchild IPL at an appropriate time.Staging them during summers is a brilliant idea to entertain and showcause the best of cricket to the maximum. Best part is we get to see something very unique and out of the box cricket.

Mr Cricket
It was interesting to note the comment made by one of India’s finest cricketing brain in his stint as a commentator at the IPL matches. The man in question was Ravi Shastri who rechristened the IPL commissioner Lalit Modi as Moses Modi.
Sure Modi has carried out the business practice of milking the cash cow (Indian cricket) with text book precision. Nothing wrong with it, as in the competitive sporting environment that cricket survives; it was the right move so that the men who play the game could capitalize the support for the game to the fullest.
Personally I support the fact that cricketers should derive the financial benefit from such endeavors, especially the young domestic cricketers, who with their participation in the revolutionary league have achieved financial stability; an important component in the life of a professional cricketer.
But my biggest concern arises from the fact; is IPL big enough to encompass the entire humongous pool of aspiring cricketers from across India? The million dollar question is will the proclaimed Moses of cricket look beyond commercial considerations and personal ego to help all the domestic players reap the benefit of his revolutionary concept?
City based league is a god given gift for an aspiring young cricketer & its benefit should pass on to one and all. For me the most heartening stories arising out of the IPL is the emergence of an Ashok Dhinda or a M.S. Ghoni. One of the leading dailies profiling the rise of Ghoni caught an interesting observation from Ghoni; he said that if it was not for Love Abhilish joining the ICL, he would have never made the cut into the Punjab Ranji team in turn not being considered for the IPL. So if Abhilish had not joined the ICL, IPL would have never seen the emergence of Ghoni. This proves the point that either the IPL has to grow in size to accommodate all the players, or the BCCI has to apporve of the ICL & Stanford

The greatest contribution of IPL to cricket is putting players from difrent cultures under one roof. U can see the result for urself, Afridi patting Gilly, HUssey congratulating Shoaib, Srilankans and Aussies Safricans in the same team and so many unbelievable things happening. There is an earnest effort to bury the nation rivalries for the sake of winning the tournament. There are players from Ausralia ,Srilanka, West indies ,Safrica, Zimbabwe, teaching the youngsters and learning and sharing from/with seniors from the other countries. It is a pleasant cricketing experience for all the players, keeping wickets to bowlers like McGrath, Shoib Steyn POllock Vaas.Murali and a host of others and bowling to their own countrymen playing for a difrent team or to other great batting stalwarts like Gichrist,Gibbs,Heyden,Jayasurya,Jayawardane,Sangakara Dhoni,Tendulkar,Ganguly,Smith and so many others.Indian players captaining their side have international captains to turn to when needed. The only apprehension is that if not immmediately, in the near future, the real test of cricketing ability, the test matches will be treated as a necessary evil.

yes lalit modi is the biggest entertainer of the year beyond doubt ,and our own cricketers must be thankful to him having started such a thing, specially the one who just play ranji matches and are never been included in the team.ipl has given platform for them and for the selectors to stand and take notice of the goni's and the jadeja's and the nair's who have come up from no where to become a household name, and our own dada whos is all set make a cut in the one day team if the selectors go by the way he has led his side to victories and little for the australians, gilchrist is not old its his big heart that he made way for his ageing succesor .

Lalit Modi is the brain behind the IPL tamasha that has made a mockery of cricket . What could me more blatantly commercial than this IPL which has sold cricket to the business barons and what finally would ail Indian cricket at the end of the day is fatigue and the loss of interest about the national commitments of the Indian players . The only redeeming feature of the so called cricket is the discovery of some unsung local players who are really doing well and could well be the future prospects of the Indian team . Does anyone think that after the IPL tamasha is over the Indian super stars will have enough energy left to play cricket buyoed by the idea of playing for the national team . They are all fatigued and burnt out .Applauding IPL is applauding the macabre materialism associated with it . I see no future of IPL except that it has been a whipping horse for the money making masters .
